The Shoulderflex Massager is an electrically powered personal massage device manufactured by King International, LLC, an American corporation. They are often sold by relaxation retailers such as Relax the Back, Lifestyle Fascination, and by online retailers such as Amazon.
On December 24, 2010, a Florida radiologist used her Shoulderflex Massager after wrapping Christmas gifts. The device became entangled in her leather necklace, causing her to die by accidental strangulation.
On August 31, 2011, King International initiated a Shoulderflex Massager recall with the FDA’s approval. The recall affects 12,000 units sold between 2003 and 2011. King International advises owners to dispose of the devices in a manner that prevents their reassembly.
